How to setup a Grandstream GRP2613 VoIP Phone

In this tutorial, we will walk through the basic steps to get a Grandstream GRP2613 Carrier Grade VoIP Phone configured for use with FiberConX Business VoIP Phone Services. These settings will usually work for most VoIP Service Providers.

NOTE: The default password is NOT admin – the default password is printed on a label attached to the bottom of the phone on the back.

Before we begin, make sure the phone is powered up and connected to your network.

  1. Press the button in the center of the joystick-like panel on the phone to bring up the Menu.
  2. Press the arrow keys as required to highlight the ‘Status’ icon and press the center button again.
  3. Now, press the arrow keys to view the ‘Network Status’ and record the IP Address.
  4. If you do not see an IP Address, check that your phone is properly connected to the network.
  5. Using a browser, enter the IP Address in the URL address bar and hit enter.
  6. Enter ‘admin’ for the Username and the default password as identified above.
  7. Once logged in, navigate to ACCOUNTS->Account 1->General Settings
  8. Enter an appropriate name in the Account Name field – this is shown on the phone.
  9. Enter the name or IP address of the SIP Server in the SIP Server field.
  10. Enter your User ID in the SIP User ID and Authenticate ID field.
  11. Enter your SIP Password in the Authenticate Password field.
  12. In the Name field, enter the name you wish to send when making calls.
  13. Enter the dialing string (usually something like *98) to access the voicemail system at your SIP Provider’s server into the Voice Mail Access Number field.
  14. Click ‘Save and Apply’.
  15. Now, navigate to ACCOUNTS->Account 1->Network Settings.
  16. Set NAT Traversal to ‘Keep-Alive’.
  17. Click ‘Save and Apply’.

At this point, your GRP2613 VoIP Phone should display the value you entered in the Account Name field on the top left corner of the LCD with a green colored handset to the left of it.
